 What we do at SUKIWA At Sukiwa Corporation, we specialize in production and merchandise of picture mounts for Nihonga paintings. Through the cooperation with specialized craftsmen, we sell materials for Nihonga paintings, deal with order-made mounts and frames and repair old paintings and scripts. The world of Nihonga is hard to approach at first, since the traditions and craftsmen in this field lie behind a closed society. However, we run a gallery in Otsu city with the intention to promote Nihonga, extend the network of artists and craftsmen, and to bridge the gap between the artisan world and the general public. |
