Kireji - Japanese Silk Fabric |
|
|
There is increasing number of people who incorporate Japanese style 'Wa' into their life-styles. We hope that more people would also incorporate the Japanese silk material 'Kire' into their life-styles. |
The textures of the materials used, such as paper and silk, are considered to be a part of the expression in Japanese art. We collect and distribute 'Washi' in order to please the artists who seek their own ways of expression.
It is very difficult for artists to use a new type of 'Washi', but we enjoy every piece of work that they explore. We believe that there is a 'Washi' for every kind of expression, and we also enjoy the process of figuring out the best match between the paper and the artist. We hope that one day we will manage to make an order made 'Washi' for every artist. |
With the same concept as 'Washi', we also offer various types of silk of different width, twist and density.

Nikawa - Traditional Japanese Glue |
Japanese paints are made by grinding rocks and granites, or refining soil. Therefore, there is no adhesiveness in the paint itself and 'Nikawa' is used as glue.
'Nikawa' is made of collagen and has been used as glue for a long time.
The most commonly used 'Nikawa' is called 'Sanzen-hon-Nikawa' (Three thousand Nikawa). There is also 'Shika-Nikawa' and 'Pearl Nikawa'. |

|
This is 'Ita-Nikawa. It has very little preservative and has strong adhesive qualities. It is also very transparent.
